About

The story

Established in 1948 in the fertile Cape Winelands town of Paarl, Boland Kelder is one of South Africa's most enduring and versatile cooperative cellars, drawing fruit from over 3,500 hectares of member vineyards spread across Paarl, Wellington and Franschhoek. Under winemaker Jaco Potgieter, the cellar has quietly built a reputation for consistent quality across an unusually wide portfolio — from food-friendly Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc whites and Pinotage and Shiraz reds, to a celebrated range of Cap Classique sparkling wines and pot-still brandies that rank among the Cape's finest. Their traditional Hanepoot and Red Muscadel fortified wines are a reminder of the Cape's centuries-old dessert wine heritage. With strong ethical and environmental credentials under the IPW and WIETA schemes, and export reach spanning Europe, North America and Asia, Boland Kelder stands as a reliable and quality-driven South African partner for any international wine programme.
